Why this must be read: Sam/Gene is a pairing often full of stress and angst.  This is for many good reasons, and I love them that way, I really do.  But so much has gone wrong for friends of mine the last few months, that this piece struck the perfect chord with me. This is the Sam and Gene we don't get to see enough. These are two people who can celebrate the choices they have made, and know that they were the right choices for them.

so much has gone wrong for friends of mine the last few months

Many hugs and much love. 2009 has been a really bad year for my friends (two of them lost their mothers, one learned she had breast cancer, another--not a close friend, but a friend--died) and for me, so I can sympathize.

And thanks for the rec. I loved it! And yes, I did leave feedback.
