Stolen Light by Kass (NC-17)

Fandom: STAR WARS:TPM
Pairing: Obi-Wan/Other, Obi-Wan/Qui-Gon, Other/Other
Why this must be read:

Star Wars:TPM fandom is unique for being perhaps the only fandom to flourish after half of the main pairing was already dead in canon. Authors have dealt with this handicap primarily by writing entirely pre-TPM stories or ignoring the death and writing AU. In Stolen Light Kass takes a path less often traveled by accepting Qui-Gon's death and working from there. How would Qui-Gon's clone deal with the legacy of his predecessor, thrust into a turbulent political time and pulled between the Dark and the Light? Excellent characterizations and a peak into a world we rarely see.

I'm not sure when my first awareness that I was not as other men came to me. I have only the vaguest memories of the tank, evanescent dreams of floating.

My growth was Force enhanced, I was in the tank for nearly five years, emerging as a boy of nearly seven standard, gangly, confused and afraid.

My mind was not precisely tabula rasa, my creators had used the forbidden subliminal learning to teach me, so I emerged with a great deal of theoretical knowledge and almost no practical application of any of it.

I think I had been decanted two years when I realized that the men and women teaching me were in thrall to the dark, mysterious presence I sensed hovering in the background, in thrall and yet afraid to the very marrow of their bones.

It was three years before I understood that I was Force sensitive.

Hi, I'm BlackSquirrel and I'll be your SW:TPM rec person for April.

Great rec, at least as far as the first part goes. I can't find any subsequent parts, however, and was wondering if you could help, as the author's email keeps bouncing. Thanks!

Huh... I though the author had a crisis and took all her work (pan-fandom) down. If this is still available, though, I'd love a copy.
