Accidentally, part 3 by Serafina (Teen)

Fandom: LIFE ON MARS
Pairing: Sam/Gene pre-slash
Length: 1200ish words
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] serafina20
Author Website:Piek Ric
Why this must be read: I am going to bend the rules a little bit on this one, I hope Sam will forgive the breach of procedure. This author is known in several other fandoms for her epically long and awesome fic. Unfortunately, her only Life on Mars fic hit a brick wall half-way through, and after a year and a half I have given up hope that it will ever be finished. The good news is that chapter 3 is an interlude in the story, a great Sam and Gene moment of the kind any other writer might pen as a one-shot. Here she gives us a bit of that intense slashiness that the series was full of, from a Sam and Gene who are thrown together, but are not yet in a relationship.

Don't be put off by the Brown Cortina rating in the header, that refers to the series as a whole, not this chapter. If you are the type who can stomach reading an incomplete story, I recomend the entire thing as worth a look. But even the biggest WIP haters should be satisfied by this scene's ability to be enjoyed on its own merits.

after a year and a half

Holy crap, I hadn't realized it'd been that long.

I do plan to finish it, really, I do. Just need to get the DVDs for inspiration.

Thanks for the rec!

Oh please do! This is one of my fave fics in the fandom. I find myself rereading various chapters of it all the time.

If we were on the same continent I'd lend you mine if it would get us a few more chapters of this fantastic fic! I still love it.

You know I'm not sure I've read Serafina's work -- I generally try to avoid WIPS so that might have scared me off. Thanks for the rec, I'm going to have to check this out!

Oh, do! I really like her stuff - Accidentally is awesome, with some really original ideas going on, and I started reading a few chapters of Cellie which is Prison Break, which I'd never even heard of but still enjoyed.
