Hey, all... I'll be your sponsor in Oz for the month of April. I got sucked into this clink in 2001 and I've been collecting recs ever since, so I've gathered up a few gems to share.
What you should probably know about me: I'm a Beecher/Keller junkie, first and foremost, so you'll be hearing a lot about them this month. But I've been known to indulge in other pairings too, so don't be surprised if Miguel or Ryan or one of the other bad boys turns up now and then. I'm also a total angst queen, and I like my Oz fic as dark and dangerous as the prison itself.
So, onward. Since this is my very first rec here, I'm starting off with a short one, but don't let the length fool you -- this one will stay with you for a long time.

Why this must be read:
The canon relationship between Tobias Beecher and Chris Keller is a complicated mess of emotions and manipulation, and Destina captures it all in this gorgeous vignette. Set sometime during the lockdown between Seasons 3 and 4, the fic gives us a brief glimpse of one night in that pod, where the history between Beecher and Keller is a relentless presence in the room, as real a presence as they themselves are. Destina calls this a stream-of-consciousness, and that's exactly what it is: never have I read an Oz story that so consciously understands what has brought, and holds, these two together.
