Why this should be read:

While I still have a little space left as the month draws to a close, I would like to rec a couple stories by authors you may have already seen. crazy_toffee is a brilliant author that can often make me read pairings I would never consider. With it's cast of thousands, you wouldn't think I would be limited but darn it, I like NaruSasu. But the way she writes just reels me in.

In Haven, once Sasuke is returned to Konoha, Naruto is left asking 'what now'? and confused. While in Suna, Gaara has disappeared into the desert. When Temari seeks Naruto's help in finding the Kazekage, he thinks it an easy mission to get away. But finding Gaara only raise more questions. And Gaara is pushing for answers.

Written in a deceptively easy style, Haven is descriptive yet eloquent, bittersweet and decidedly realistic. crazy_toffee's inner dialog with these characters must be amazing as she writes them so fresh and real, I believe she is channeling Kishimoto.

Try out Haven but stick around for some of her other fic as well. No matter the pairing, she is enthralling.

LOVE HER~!! not too keen on this pairing, but "Tangled up in Lace" is my ultimate favorite Naruto fanfic - could even be my favorite fanfic period (bold statement, i know, but that is how much i loved it). i'm sure Tangled has been recced before but it's good to see her other works recced as well. "After All" is another good one. her amazing talent lies in the fact that she can take certain kinks and premises (crossdressing, threesomes), which may not appeal or ring true to everyone, and melds them into canon flawlessly. love <3

Oh, my god, she wrote a Saki-chan story. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!! How incredible. One I haven't read or even know about. Thank you, thank you. Somehow, I had missed this one. I wrote a rec (Saki-chan universe) (http://community.livejournal.com/crack_van/3570267.html?mode=reply) for this universe back in January but somehow missed this one.

I AM SOOOO HAPPY FOR YOU!!! there's nothing like reading a truly awesome fic/book for the first time. as part of my naruto revival, i went back and re-read Tangled just yesterday and i was struck by how much i loved it even after having read it so many times before... Toffee is a truly gifted writer. BTW, if you aren't already, i'd read it on adultfanfiction.net instead of on her LJ. I think the story is the same but something about the layout and color of AFF makes it easier to read on screen. i really enjoyed 'lace and strawberries' as well, but this is one of the few times when i really felt that the derivative work exceeded the original inspiration. and a plus! it's fairly lengthy. but still leaves you wanting more... i wonder if she would ever consider writing a sequel.... cause that would blow my world....
