End of the Trail by Karen (PG13)

Fandom: Alias Smith and Jones
Pairing: Hannibal Heyes / Kid Curry
Length:  25kb / 3,778 words
Author on LJ: unknown
Author Website: Karen's Fiction

Why this must be read: All is not what it seems when Curry abandons an injured Heyes and makes off with $2,500. Heyes tracks Curry down and demands answers - and the answers he gets are not at all what he expected. This is a nicely put together tale that rolls right along and holds your interest until the very last word. She captures Curry's "voice" particularly well, I feel. There's plenty of angst in this story, good conversation and a happy ending. And that is a good deal.

Hard to say about Sophocles. Heyes seems to be an avid reader and would most likely read anything on hand if he were bored

Fair enough, of course (but how often is Sophocles gonna be lyin' around a hotel room in the Old West? *g*). I think of him as bright but self-educated, so it's hard to see him as having sampled, you know, the Great Books or anything. However, that's totally a mileage-may-vary position and, though it gave me a moment's pause, did NOT harm my enjoyment of that story. I've totally bookmarked that page for future AS&J and BSG reading!

You're doing a great job! I've been following along (and commented on a couple of your recs) and seeing a lot (well, a lot for this fandom) of people going "Ooh! Alias Smith and Jones! Didn't know there was fanfic for that!"

Consider your mission accomplished (not that I want you to stop or anything). :-)
