What Makes A Mortal Interesting by Knightshade [R]

Why this must be read: Femslash is not something that strongly figures in Forever Knight fandom, but that doesn't mean the potenial isn't there, as this story aptly demonstrates. Throughout the run of the series Janette and Natalie had very few scenes together. It's one the show's greatest tragedies. Knightshade uses the events and the Natalie and Janette interaction from "A More Permanent Hell" to weave a sexy and plausible scenario that keeps both characters true to themselves. Janette controls the situation with her usual grace and Natalie never lets go of the curiousity that is so much a part of her.
Nat wasn't sure if there was a threat in the lingering stare Janette was giving her, but it was making her insides turn to jelly. Nick was the fluffy teddy bear variety of vampire and even he was scary sometimes. There was nothing fluffy about Janette. She was a sleek, powerful predator through and through. Natalie was starting to rethink the wisdom of coming to the Raven alone. "Why? Why would you save my life if you don't see it that way?" she asked, determined to continue in lieu of any real threat.
"You know why." Janette's eyes flickered to the glasses and then back again, hitting Natalie with a stare so hard that the word 'Nick' dried up in her throat. Suddenly she wasn't at all sure she did know why.
