Inverted Symmetry by Emily M (PG-13)
Fandom: Stargate SG-1
Pairing: none
Author on LJ:
slyredfox
Author Website: Nomadic Spirit
Why this must be read:
Emily's real strength as a writer is creating vivid word pictures with far less than the proverbial thousand words each. *g* And this is one of the best examples. Her summary is "It's just your standard, run of the mill body swap," but it's really anything but. She gets inside Jack's head flawlessly as he deals with this unexpected situation--worse this time than in "Holiday" because he's swapped bodies with Sam--and leaves the reader hungry for more. The situation is funny, and Jack's internal monologue on it is even funnier. Honestly, the only thing even remotely *wrong* with the fic is that she keeps talking about writing a companion story from Sam's POV and hasn't done it yet. ;-)
