Why this must be read: As I toldmiss_zedem, I was planning on reccing another one of her fics, but discovered it had already been recced. While browsing her masterlist, I rediscovered this story and am thrilled that I get to rec it. I have a weakness for fics that take glimpses of characters's lives and turn them into a cohesive story. This fic does an amazing job of weaving a strong and true emotional thread through fifty snippets of Ray and Fraser's life together. They don't fall in chronological order, and while each stands alone, together they form a beautiful and complete picture.
6. Occasionally people ask how long they've been together. It's not a question either of them can answer easily. Of course they can name first times - first meeting, first kiss, first time they were intimate, first time Ben stayed the night. Pinpointing the moment their partnership turned into a friendship, and their friendship became something more is difficult though. For simplicity's sake, they tell people they got together on their adventure. But in their heads, they've been together for two years longer than that, since the very first time Ben called Ray's name across the squad room and Ray answered with a hug.
