Hi there! I'm bookaddict43 and I'm back to drive the February van for Firefly. Though I'm mainly a het shipper (particularly Jaylee), I'm hoping to bring you a variety of recs this month and I'm going to start with one of my favourites.

Why this must be read: This story always sends a shiver down my spine with it's realistically portrayed scenes and the way in which the author succeeds in making this pairing totally real.
When Simon is separated from the others during a Reaver attack, the last person he expects to rescue him is Jayne. But it is Jayne who comes and Jayne who is eventually marooned with him on a planet that has turned into a graveyard overnight. The story follows the ups and downs of the pair as they fight to survive in an unforgiving, sometimes hostile environment. The author depicts the growing relationship between the two beautifully and keeps her two protagonists right in character.
This fic is 71,918 words of awesome prose that will have you crying and laughing and cheering the boys on. Set aside some time to read it all at once, arm youself with coffee and tissues and enjoy.
