Just Another February 14th by Greenwoman (G)

It's a happy coincidence that I ended up having February as my month to rec here, because this story was already on my list to rec! It's absolutely my favorite Valentine's Day fic, and it's a great read any time, because it's not too heavy on the holiday stuff.

Fandom: THE SENTINEL
Pairing: Jim/Blair
Length: 12k
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] greenwoman
Author Website: http://www.squidge.org/~halfaft/
Why this must be read:

This is such a sweet, beautiful story. [livejournal.com profile] greenwoman does duch a beautiful job of making all these squiggly things we call letters join together into those other things called words, and then she takes it a step further and makes *those* into these awesome sentences that I love to read again and again.

Just Another February 14th is pre-slash, and there's just the perfect touch of wistfulness on the parts of both Jim and Blair, and I *adore* the ending. I also adore the beginning. Oh, and the middle, too. I'm sure you guys will love this story just as much as I do, and that when you finish it, you'll go "Awwwwwww!!".

And then you'll read it again, and repeat. This story is just that good.

And if that's not enough incentive to get your butt over to the story and start reading *right now*, here's the first bit:

The black onyx carving seemed to soak up the light, trapping it, drawing it into the heart of the stone and holding it prisoner there. Blair turned the fetish in his hand, letting his fingertips caress the curves and grooves that shaped the small beast and lingering for a moment over the tiny blue turquoise eyes.

Happy Valentine's Day to all of you, and don't forget to let the author know what you think!
