Why this vid kicks ass: This isn't actually my official vid rec for this set. It's just a regular rec that happens to be a songvid. See, SGA doesn't just have great fics, the songvids are awesome too and definitely deserve lots of love. This is one of my all-time favourites. It's a gorgeously put together character study of John, showing all of his contradictions: heroism, loyalty, and defiance, even perhaps when those things aren't needed or wanted... and the people he loves fiercly and who love him back just has much.
