Why this must be read: Jayne has a powerful brain and Mal is more than a little wild in this fic. Set pre-series and the arrival of the Tams and the Shepherd, this is a great glimpse of Mal and Jayne brawling through life. Told from Jayne's POV, this is Mal in one of his more reckless moods and you could see how the two of them could get on. Both characters are perfectly in character and Zoe's appearance is just right.
