Why this must be read:
Holy heart failure, Batman – it's genfic! But I do love me a well-written genfic, andkaylashay81 recently wrote such a lovely one, and it'd be a true tragedy to not rec it here!
It's a short little fic, only 1000 words (but then, Kayla is the queen of drabbles and short fics, let me tell you). A tag to 7x12, Flesh and Blood, this fic explores the ending of the episode, and how Tony and Gibbs got to that point in their relationship. It's wonderfully written, and the buildup of Gibbs' and Tony's friendship is so nice and slow. Even though it's gen, it can be easily seen as pre-slash (if one wishes to interpret it that way – it's much like the show, in that respect).
The entire piece is effortless, and flows beautifully – it has to be one of my favorite tags to an episode ever. I won't give an excerpt, since it's so short, but take my word on it – it's amazing. Go read it!
