Why this must be read:
I was in an angsty mood all weekend, so this story suited me perfectly. It's such a beautiful story, elegantly written and emotionally laden, and I feel this really is Ray's backstory and relationship with Stella. I also like how opaque Fraser is to Ray and how emotionally stunted and fear-driven Fraser is, which is so trufax, and that Ray made up his mind without any guidance from Fraser.
Warning for possible trigger: suicide (not main character or central to plot).
