Make a Wish by Rorschach's Blot - Teen
Hello and welcome to April! I will be your driver this month and I have a bunch of Harry Potter recs this month for you that should appeal to everyone: slash, gen, het, moresomes... I'm going to try and hit them all :)
Fandom: HARRY POTTER
Pairing: Gen
Length: 186,544
Author on LJ: None
Author Website: Rors' FFN profile. Rors' yahoo group
Why this must be read: I was pretty shocked to see that this hadn't been recommended yet since it is just a gem of a story. This came out in the same spate of post-OOTP fics that tried to deal with the prophecy and Sirius' death. As Rors himself puts it: "Harry has learned the prophesy and he does not believe that a schoolboy can defeat Voldemort, so he decides that if he is going to die then he is first going to live." As Harry travels the world, a series of coincidences & luck leads him to creating a legend out of the pseudonym he has chosen. This is a story of fate and luck and friendship and humor and travel. And after all that, Harry returns to Hogwarts to discover just how his adventures have been reported to the rest of the world and realizes just how much he has changed. Make a Wish plays with the now-common post-OOTP super/independent/grey Harry without bashing any characters (except for Death Eaters and baddies) and showing just how willing Witches and Wizards will believe in anything...
Make a Wish
And the sequel:
The Hunt for Harry Potter
After you give this shot, try some of his other works - they are all a lot of fun.
