Would That I Could Travel Both by Maidenjedi (R)
Hi! I'm your driver for the month of April. I'm excited and happy to be back for my third time behind the wheel. I'm happy to report that the fic writing in the X-Files fandom is still going strong and we are seeing new and wonderful fics all the time. This month I'm going to feature a few new ones, delve into the archives and feature a few old ones, and I plan to expand my own horizons a bit and go beyond the very popular Mulder/Scully pairing and see what I can do about bringing you something different. Sit back and enjoy!
Fandom: THE X-FILES
Pairing: Mulder/Scully
Length: short
Author on LJ:
maidenjedi
Author Website: uninvited - maidenjedi's fanfiction
Why this must be read:
The X-Files fandom is great about hosting challenges of all sorts that produce wonderful stories. Maidenjedi wrote this as a gift for 2008's xf_santa's challenge. This story is great for so many reasons, but I think my favorite is how it supposes a change and how that affects the future all while moving backwards. I'm a big fan of "what if?" stories and this story asks that question five times at five different moments in time and gives us five different answers with five different outcomes. The author takes the title from a Robert Frost poem and she does the poet justice, the story is short, simple, quiet, and unassuming.
