Why this must be read:
Wherein Chris is a Senator and Zach is the snarky speech-writer who crawls under Chris' skin and refuses to budge. Also Zoe is a gay-enabler and Chris sort of owes her.
Ahhh we're back to the Pinto, which I had told myself I wasn't going to do, but there are SO MANY good Pinto fics. And this one is awesome! It's an AU, which Trek RPF does fairly awesomely -- and this one is just hilarious and hot and fun and sexy. The personality of everyone comes through, especially Zach and Chris's snarkiness and it's basically awesome.
“Chris I…” Zoe started, looking up from a file she was holding, her eyes widening as she took in the way Zach was poised with a piece of mu-shoo pork halfway to his mouth and Chris was licking hoisin sauce off of his wrist, “I’m sorry, am I interrupting some hard work going on here?”
Chris smirked at her and turned to Zach, “She’s allowed to take that tone with me because she’s seen me naked.”
Zach nodded and blinked up at Zoe through the black frames of his glasses, saying in a mock-pitying tone, “I’m very sorry.”
Surprise flitted across her face for a split-second, recognised by Chris only because he knew her so well, but then she was smiling easily down at Zach and replying, “It’s okay, he was much too drunk to hit on me.”
