Why this must by read:
I was a little unsure about this story at first because I’m not wild about AU’s. It’s set during Shelly Pomroy's party, but Logan was drugged instead of Veronica. However, this story won my heart for its pitch-perfect characterization. It perfectly captures a Veronica who is in between the naive girl from before Lily's death and our strong heroine that we love so much. Furthermore, Logan is freshly wounded from Lily's death and painfully self-destructive. Also, it really encompasses one of the main reasons why I think Veronca/Logan is inevitable perfection. After Lily's death, they were the only two characters who couldn't let it go and move on. They lashed out at everyone and everything, especially each other.
You're never gonna be Lilly, Veronica. You shouldn't try to be. It doesn't work for you. Drop the act."
Good. You hate him all over again.
"It's not an act."
Logan laughs again, and it's a sound you're getting really sick of. "Lilly was cruel. You can dress like her, talk like her, walk like her, Veronica, but that's the part you'll never be."
He's right, and you know he's right, and you hate him for being right, because Lilly isn't completely human anymore, any more than Logan is. You've scrubbed off her rough edges and polished her up, and he's caught you doing it.
And that makes you the one who betrayed her.
