Through the Ages by Chrysaliss (none given by author but about PG-PG-13 to be safe)

Sorry for the late start; those darn road blocks threw me into the curves. And there are more speed bumps ahead in the month before us. So, unfortunately I won't be able to do the amount of recs previous drivers have done; I'll be doing good to get the four required done. But we'll see what happens.

I read both slash and gen in this fandom so I'll and give you some variety this month. I'm also a big fan of anything historical so be prepared to see a couple of historical-based stuff here (like this rec). :D That all being said, please buckle your seat belts, grab our barf bags and "oh, sh*t!" handles, and get ready to have fun!

Why this must be read:

Out of all the takes on the fallout of the last episode of the show, this one is my favorite way of dealing it. Chrysaliss takes the idea of a destined path and makes it fresh with her accurate historical settings and very emotional narrative. I've gotta give kudoes to Chrysaliss for taking a fanfiction cliche and giving it a new spin. So give this fic a chance, you definitely won't be sorry.

Oh I like this one and it's memorable. There have been several requests for the "Viking" story, as people remember it and want to re-read. Chrys is a good storyteller, so I'm glad she's getting the spotlight.

Good luck with the rest of the month. I hope the roads smooth out for you!

Cheers

Oh, how very cool to have this recced! I wrote it quite a long time ago (when it wasn't such a fandom cliche ;D ), and it's wonderful to see it still being read and liked. Thank you.

I'll likely be reposting it (and probably the slash version as well) on my LJ in the next few months, just FYI.

*blushes*

Thanks so much!

Yes, the slash version (which actually has the Civil War scenario written out), but has never been net-posted as it was written for a zine and then I never got it up on the website after the zine timed out. I'll try to get it posted in a reasonable time frame!
