Why this must be read:
This author is a relative newcomer to the fandom, and it's a delight to see that, after all this time, there are still writers being drawn into writing old-style LoM casefic. The fic has a simplicity of style and economy of language that gives the reader just enough to 'see' vividly the events of the story. In particular, the dialogue and action of the characters are true to canon in a pleasingly low key and often laconic way.
I must admit, I'd love to see something substantially longer from this writer - in the meantime, this will do nicely! (I'd advise readers to check out her drabbles too - there are some proper crackers in there. :) )
