Pairing: Buffy/Giles in an AU
Rating: R for violence and language
Why this must be read:
I'm surprised to find myself reccing a het story (especially B/G) as one of my favorites, but this dark AU in which Angel never got his soul back is short, stylish, and memorable. The story of Ripper the Watcher and his Slayer Annie is definitely worth reading, even for hardcore slashers. (There's no sex.)

I think why this story has broad appeal is it isn't very "shippy." Plus the B/G is in another reality, so it doesn't affect canon or any other 'ships based on canon.

Especially loved how the so-called "minor" characters shifted in the other world too...::happygoodficsigh::

I thought the altverse concept was effectively used, especially for such a short fic.
