Why this must be read:

This is the piece that made me fall in love with Draco and Pansy as a pairing, the author has a great understanding of their relationship and the way she wrote the dynamic between them had me searching every last Harry Potter archive I could think of for more stories featuring these two.

He could be romantic and idealistic and say that he simply opened his eyes one day, and there she was, and she was beautiful.

Except that those traits don't really come naturally to Slytherins.

In actual fact, he simply opened his eyes one day, and there her breasts were, and they were beautiful.

Pansy's breasts made themselves known in short order just after her fifteenth birthday. Suddenly, her robes draped over her front in a fashion that managed to be both odd and intriguing at once. And Pansy, after about a month of crossing her arms over her chest and hunching forward like Madam Pince, gathered that this could work to her advantage, and then—well, the marks in the male sector of fifth year Slytherins decreased at an alarming rate.

Hufflepuffs hemmed and hawed and spent long hours trying to figure out the exact schedule of their beloveds and the proper time to make their move, which was generally clumsy and ill-executed. Gryffindors dedicated years of their lives to pursuing a single one true love, with whom they could happily bicker until they got old and grey. Ravenclaws read books on the subject until they got old and grey and then made millions off books about their lost loves.

Slytherins just asked.

"Parkinson!" yelled Draco across the common room. "Pansy! Go out with me?"

Pansy turned around and gave him a calculating look. "All right then," she said finally, and turned back around again.

Over the years, Hogwarts had accumulated a diverse lexicon of slang. Though he truly hated to admit it, that was a Snitch-swallowing moment—the sort of lucky stroke that only came a few times in a lifespan for those who weren't Harry Potter.
