Why this must be read:
At last, the story of Chamber of Secrets from Ginny's point of view. More specifically, this is the story of CoS told through Ginny's entries into Tom Riddle's diary. This is a dark, frightening story, as Tom takes advantage of her loneliness and naivete - first, winning her trust, and then slowly taking her over, piece by piece. Tom seems to say such normal, even supportive things, but because the reader knows who he is and what he's doing, we know he's really being sarcastic, cutting, and manipulative. But Ginny in her innocence has no idea, and it's heartwrenching to see her used so. Amazingly chilling stuff.
