Having started with Harlequins when I was very young, I tend to like my slash warm, romantic, passionate, and with a happy ending. Trey or A Tale Of Three Clans has all of these but it is also very - hmm - graphic!?!

It has a wonderful view of the clans of Konoha, 3 of my favorite characters, and yet .. it's really, really explicit. The story .. I liked it, thought about it afterward, and the ideas presented were original and intriguing with great insight into specific Japanese roles. Team 8 may not have alway been in-character, but I loved the rare look into the Abumare and Inuzuka clans. But it's really ... whew, is it hot in here??

So, I can't not rec it; but please, consider your preferences and the rating!

Before I get tragically traumatized, can I ask what the rating is for? Like just huge amounts of sex or huge amounts of unusual sexual uh things? Violence, rape, things like that?

I apologize. I wrote my recs for this week and then snuck off for some family vacation time.

As to your question - it has huge amounts of sex. But, it's written like a guy would write, I think. Very graphic, very specific, ... and the hearts and flowers comes much later. It reminds me of the porn novels my brother thought he had hidden from me when I was a teenager; not necessarily bad porn, just very graphic.

I think this is a perfect example of the difference between porn and romance. Whether you like slash, 3somes, yaoi, etc, this just doesn't have the smooth edges you normally see when a female writes a story. (And, darn it, I never realized I was that sexist about my adult reading material.) I read and rec R & NC-17 stuff all the time and love a good PWP but this one ...

There is no violence, rape, or strange sex - uhm, well, it is Shino and Kiba .. think about it. ;-) What do you consider strange???

If you read it, do me a favor and let me know if you see the difference .. and if you can explain it. I would be glad to re-write my rec if you could explain the difference. I feel so dumb not being able to explain it.
