Why this must be read: Not a lot of fic is written about Sam's girlfriend Maya. This is understandable, since I think she gets six minutes of screentime at the very most, but I still often wish there was more. This story is that more. I love severinne's Maya, who is exactly as I always imagine her being. There's realism, passion, the dwindling of passion, and a believable explanation of the relationship in canon. There's also some very hot sex.



At times like now, with Sam on his knees and the heel of her black patent shoe digging into the back of his best grey wool suit, Maya could easily overlook the negative points of dating her superior officer.

Actually, if she were completely honest – and with his tongue moving like that, so quick and eager, how could she be anything but honest? – knowing that the man at her feet was her DCI just made every orgasm that much better.
