Why this must be read: I was once a CW RPF reader if I had the time and the story sounded good enough. Over a year ago, a summer road trip J2 high school AU fic went live that sounded really good, but I had not read the companion story. I decided to give the first fic in this series a try to see if it worked for me, and it quickly became my most re-read RPF fic in my personal RPF reading history. This series has everything from snappy dialogue, fleshed-out secondary characters, situations that feel very familiar (and real) but don't dip into maudlin territory, and, most important, a love story that will pull you in and you'll want more and more of this Jared and Jensen. This is a fun series that is perfect for summer reading and one of the best high school/college alternate universes written for this fandom. And, on a shallow note, absolute top-notch porn; Carly writes scorching hot love scenes that are emotion and sexy, and they contribute to the story — they are not extraneous crowd pleasers. Truly one of my favorites, and give it a read, you'll see why.
