Weirdly, when I read fawsley's brilliant metafic (http://community.livejournal.com/lifein1973/1942318.html) over on 1973flashfic, I seriously considered writing something like this. (Complete with Sir David narrating earnestly from the sidelines, resplendent in his khaki shorts.)
