Why this is a must read:

So far, I haven't read the manga but I've watched the series several times as it's one of my favorites. Except for the ending. To paraphrase the author's note at the beginning of the fic, there's no payoff for Kenshin and Kaoru and they don't even kiss! Kiesmoon fixes that right up with this story and then some. She gives us Kenshin's thoughts on why he won't commit to Kaoru, Sano being an instigator, poor Yahiko always interrupting at the wrong moment and through it all, there's a slow build up of sexual tension that mirrors the spectacular thunderstorms that occur every night. Overall, this fic supplies us with the ending we wish would have happened.

"Jou-chan? Why is she so violent today?"

"She didn't get much sleep last night, that she did not." The man answered in typical Kenshin fashion.

Sano raised his eyebrows suggestively. "Wild night last night?" The man colored slightly and Sano sat up a little straighter. That was not typical Kenshin. "Was it a wild night last night?" He asked, more serious than he had initially asked.
