Post Mortem by Graculus (PG)
Howdy! My name is
georgiesmith and I'll be driving The Man from U.N.C.L.E. van for October. I know some of you are probably already tired of me after a whole September of my pestering you via the NCIS van, but I live in hope that there are a few folks out there who will discover or rediscover a favorite piece of fan fiction through my recommendations.
Fandom: THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E.
Pairing: Napoleon Solo / Illya Kuryakin
Length: approximately 4,300 words
Author on LJ:
graculus
Author Website: The Grotto
Why this must be read: I was shocked to discover that this marvelous piece hadn't been rec'd here before. (Shocked, I tell you!) In this fantastic tale, Mr. Waverly has just passed away but his soul is still stuck on the Earthly plane, specifically bound to Napoleon Solo, and he needs to discover why. We watch Napoleon's transition to Number One, Section One throughout that first difficult day with Waverly as our guide through his observations and ruminations on both Solo and Kuryakin as agents and as men. It's just a lovely piece of writing from one of my favorite authors.
