Why this must be read: Written for round 3 of

reel_merlin this story, based on the movie 2012, is a wonderfully imagined AU for Arthur and Merlin. Arthur is the modern day Prince of Wales and Merlin a doctor with Medicins Sans Frontiers. They meet, but Arthur knows they have no future, not long after he discovers that neither does the rest of the world.

I haven't seen the movie, but don't need to with this great take on the story. All the Merlin characters are there, and I challenge you not to get tears in your eyes in places.
