Written as part of the Behind Every Good Woman challenge, this is a lovely Jack/Anamaria fic: sparse, and stylish, and it feels true to both characters. The fandom needs more Jack/Anamaria--especially fic as good as this one.

Anamaria has an understanding with Captain Jack Sparrow.

He treats her like an equal, and she doesn't run him through with a sword.

It works surprisingly well.

I'm pleased to hear you liked it. I only found this story after I'd begun rec'ing PoTC this month--but I knew I wanted to include an Anamaria/Jack, and this certainly captured them well.
