Why this must be read: - Set during SenToo, Blair is sitting in his office, thinking, after being thrown out of the only place he'd ever called home.
I find I almost automatically think 'historical AUs' when I consider Marion's stories although she's written a lot of stories that aren't historicals, and this - although one of her shorter ones - is one of my favourites; a clever and imaginative twist on the reason for a piece of canon.
If you don't know Marion's work, it's well worth checking her other stories.
