Somewhere I Have Never Traveled by

Fandom: WHITE COLLAR
Pairing: Neal/Peter, (background Neal/Kate, pre-Neal/Peter/Elizabeth)
Length: 11,000

Author Website: Master Fic List on Dreamwidth
Why this must be read:
Neal: In some alternate universe you'd be wearing power ties, doing power lunches, flying corporate jets...
Peter: Doubt we'd have ever met.
Neal: Maybe. Under difference circumstances.
Peter: Oh, that's true. You might've robbed the company.

I'm leaving you with an AU as my last rec, and here's why- because I think that it's pretty awesome that Neal and Peter are so different in this story, yet still find the common ground to form a relationship. Peter is kind of a hard-ass, lonely and a little aloof. Neal is a little less slick, a little more pressured and harried by the life he's chosen. The trust issues alone made for a great story, but there was something about this universe that stayed with me. Maybe it was the hopeful, open ending. Maybe it was just that, in any incarnation, Peter and Neal are incredible together, always meant to be playing some game that only they really know the rules to.

This is my sign-off for the month. It's been a lot of fun, and I hope you've enjoyed the recs. Many thanks go to the
crack_van mods, and to the amazing writers, artists, and everyone else in White Collar fandom, who made it incredibly hard to pick just a few stories to share.
