Why this must be read:
READ THE WARNINGS ON THIS FIC!
I've been debating with myself all month about recing this.
On the one hand, a well written, engaging story.
On the other hand, one of the more bothersome things I've ever read. I felt slightly ill and weird for days. I've never shaken this story from my head. I also don't regret reading it.
As a child Charlie is manipulated and abused by a classmate. As an adult that same classmate shows up as a suspect in an abuse case and Charlie must tell Don why he is so sure the man is guilty.
emmademarais does not shy away from anything in this story. Nothing is implied or left in the shadows. It's like those car crash videos.
How anyone reacts to this story is probably down to their personal life experiences but if you can handle it I think it should be read and it's a good thing that it has been written.
