Eight Things That Could Have Happened in Oregon by Hank Moody Blues (PG-13)
Ahoy-hoy! I'm Amal, and I'm your designated X-Files driver for this month. And I Have A Plan (or at least a theme)! This may be an old school fandom, but we still have reat writers producing amazing work. So for this month, I'll be sticking to things written and posted in the last six months (and change), by writers who are around and active in the fandom.
Eight Things That Could Have Happened in Oregon by

Fandom: THE X-FILES
Pairing: Mulder/Scully
Length: one-shot
Author on LJ:
hankmoodyblues
Author Website: Fic Masterlist
Why this must be read:
The Pilot is a pivotal episode for the X-Files, in a very literal sense; it's the point around which the series swings. Anything that changed for Mulder and Scully over those few days in Bellefleur, Oregon would have permanently altered both of their lives' paths, and probably the fate of the human race as well. (No pressure, guys.) Hank Moody Blues here plays with a lot of different what-if scenarios, and each of them is absolutely plausible and more than a little frightening. I'll admit to being partial to numbers 1 and 4 myself (for literary reasons, not because I like the outcomes!), but it's pretty much all good.
This is angsty and delicious, and a great way to play with time and fate--also a topic our canon brings to our attention with some frequency.
