Why this must be read: Ghost Dance is set in a 'verse where the Apocalypse ends a different way for a traumatised Dean, and to say more would spoil the brilliant way this fic unspools. Look, I'm not usually a fan of stories which revolve around massive debility and lashings of hurt/comfort, but this fic made me wonder why the hell not. Omphalos has woven a long, beautifully-done character study of Dean when all his Dean-ness is gone, and all the ways that does and doesn't change his relationship to Castiel. I couldn't stop reading into the wee small hours of the morning, so make sure you don't start it on Sunday night. You have been warned! ;)
