Why this must be read:

A sweet little UST piece set between Redux II and Detour; probably a very gentle member of the hurt/comfort genre, wherein the 'hurt' is 'recovering from magic disappearing nose cancer' and the 'comfort' is 'chicken salad and banana pudding and Bigfoot.' I love this moment in the series, and I love the easy way that Mulder and Scully interact in this. She's surprisingly willing to let him mother-hen her, and he's surprisingly not making one mistake for every sentence, which is nice. (I'd argue it follows well from the canon-moment, but that's a more personal preference.) I also can't help but wonder if the call-forward to Requiem is intentional; who knows?
