Why this must be read:

It's a missing scene from when Sam faints in 2x05. Gene and Annie spar over who gets to look after him. Annie's PoV is so well done here, her strength and determination shine through, making her more than a match for Gene. It has wonderful insights on the characters and how they feel about each other. To sum up: possessive!Gene, assertive!Annie and hurt!Sam. What more could you want? :D
