Why this must be read:

This is one of my absolute favorite Supernatural AUs of all time. Dean is a late-night radio show host, Castiel a down-on-his-luck insurance salesman who's just about been disowned from his family, and their relationship blossoms through a combination of bad luck, good books, and great music. The Dean/Cas bond in Play It All Night Long goes at exactly the right pace and never feels forced. There's a great ensemble crew as well, with both Sam and Gabriel taking on significant roles as the backup for their respective brothers. This is a fic that's not obsessively centered on the pairing itself, but takes in the scope of family and the ties that bind.

Hmm. Well, I love fics that do slow buildups as opposed to "you're hot, let's have sex!" and this fic, I feel, does the UST gig perfectly. I also love the roles that Sam and Gabriel play in conversations with their various clueless brothers. The Roadhouse crew is always a plus. Also, as someone who's clueless about music even at the best of times, this fic is like a gift from the musical gods.
