Lime Jello by T. Gabrielle

Why this must be read:

The story spans, within the relatively short narrative, a first meeting of the two agents, as well as the development of their unique blend of charm and reticence. Kuryakin is spot on as the new and mysterious Russian who immediately gains the attention and friendship of the rocketing, albeit reckless rising star of the organization, Napoleon Solo.
It is a vignette set within a history; a look into the future amidst a simple encounter over lunch. I have read this and re-read it, and always find the whimsy and reality of their relationship to be fresh and incisively told.

Excerpt:
“Uh,” Solo began, taken off-guard by the by the unexpected go-ahead but refusing to turn away from the opportunity to—enlighten his friend?—his friend who he did not wish to lose as a partner. “Uh,” he started again, clearing his throat. “You need to spend time on foreplay,” he explained. “Girls like to be kissed.”
“So do I,” Kuryakin said, his candor disarming. He was straightforward. Really. It was as if he, at once, didn’t know how to lie and lied all the time even so. Didn’t he just say he had never explored New York until recently?
So he liked to be kissed?

This one is a favorite of mine. I hope you'll make it a bookmark for yourself as well.
