Why this must be read:
Set against the backdrop of a murder case in Chicago, this is a lyrical, almost poetic story about the changes in Mulder and Scully's relationship post-Sixth Extinction: Amor Fati. This story is one I can read again and again and be at once amazed by it's brilliance, and then saddened that it is the only XF fic the author ever wrote. I love this passage most of all: "He is circling in her orbit and it is all he wishes to ever feel." I couldn't have summed up Mulder's feelings about Scully any better myself.
