Why this must be read:
When I need a fic that will make me smile,poor_choices is where I go – it’s one of my fanfic happy places. Incredibly prolific, you could (and I have) spend days reading everything this author has written, and never be disappointed.
I chose this story because it springboards off of one of my favorite sit-coms, Big Bang Theory. To quote the author: “Jensen is a socially awkward but happy theoretical physicist, Jared is an aspiring actor, and everyone sucks at relationships pretty damn hard.” While it’s got a lot of BBT elements, you don’t need to know the show at all to enjoy the story, or any of its sequels (including a couple of delightful Leverage crossovers).
Oh, and the geek connection? I've had conversations just like the ones they have on BBT. (sez she who will NEVER call the Sci-Fi channel by its newer, dorkier name *fistbumps Leonard*).
