Why this must be read:

Yes, another fairy tale. The most current round of

j2_everafter had so many amazing entries that I couldn’t rec just one. I chose this one for several reasons. For one thing, it’s based on Little Mermaid, which has long been a favorite of mine (both the original story and the film). For another, it’s a modernization of the tale, yet still retains that enchanted feel, like it’s almost but not quite of our world. Thirdly, the author has woven in a lot of tiny details that just make the word so rich and real. And it’s an adult tale – not just in some of the events, but in that the characters are mature adults, and their lives, their decisions, reflect that.

It’s simply full of wonder, and wonderful.
