Why this must be read: - Shedoc is one of two writers (to my knowledge) who has taken Blair's line from Seige (I flew Apaches in Desert Storm) and written a story about it. (I Flew Apaches In Desert Storm by Debra Baschal was recced here in 2004)
Where Blair is outed in Debra's story by someone from his past turning up, in this one he is outed when a TV programme about Desert Storm shows Blair as a helicopter pilot for a medi-vac crew...
Not only does this story show Blair's strength, it also shows what is basically his low self-esteem. A nicely-paced story interspersing Blair's story with the reactions of his friends in Major Crime during the commercial breaks. But, late on in the story, it's Daryl who has what has to be one of the best lines in the story, at a dramatic point where the program is interrupted by one of those breaks.
There are two sequels, one direct, the second a snippet based on what seems to be a throwaway line at the end of the first story.
