And no, it is not m-preg. It's a story about negotiating sexual politics, about Sam's knowledge of the future impacting his past-present, and about Gene doing that thing he always does yet pretends he doesn't: compromise. It is, in short, AWESOME.

Petra is an excellent writer. She always has amazing voices and her characterisation is exemplary. As well as fiction that concentrates only on Life on Mars, she writes a lot of Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes crossover fic (and Ashes to Ashes fic!) I highly recommend checking all of her fiction out.



Gene snorted. "Afraid I'm going to get you up the duff, Gladys?"

"No." Sam had had a speech all ready, translating the cascading issues of the 1980's into something that would make sense to Gene, without resorting to "I'm from the future and there are horrible diseases there," but it was too long. "I just don't want to catch anything."

"I'll wash my hands." Gene scowled.
