I’m ending the week with one more mom-related fic. Brava to all the fab moms out there.

Why this must be read: It’s a look at what might happen if all the mother figures in Jim’s life got together for tea and a chat. And we get to be the fly on the wall!

This is set up in the form of a play, with dialogue and stage directions included. It’s Jim’s birthday and, by coincidence, these four influential women show up at the same time to wish him well. Unfortunately, he’s not there to receive their good wishes. That doesn’t stop them from sitting down for a little chat and some revealing backstory.

For those of you unfamiliar with Margaret Mary, there is some canon-based speculation that Jim and Steven had different mothers, with MM being Jim’s mom and Grace being Steven’s. Sadly, because of the shoot-em-up nature of the show, much of the guys’ backgrounds are given short shrift. Fortunately, we have talented writers who are more than willing to fill in the blanks!
