Why this must be read:
This is a post-finale fic where, in John's absence, Sarah rises to leadership in humanity's fight for survival. The author has a fantastic grasp on Sarah's character, and how she is basically already a leader, already that person who maintains emotional distance from others. The fic seamlessly blends in movie-verse characters (Kate Brewster), and characters younger than the age we see them at in the series (Derek, Kyle, Allison).
