The Ghostlight Affair by UncleCharlie (PG-13)
Fandom: THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E.
Pairing: gen (the slash version is Illya Kuryakin/Napoleon Solo)
Length: 25k
Author on LJ:
spikesgirl58
Author Website: Fanfiction.net, Chrome and Gunmetal (slash works)
Why this must be read:
In this story, Napoleon and Illya go undercover at a theatre to investigate a 'ghost'...as a gay couple. A cliche? Superficially maybe, but it's done with a twist: they are JUST friends, and it's satisfying in that way (and this is coming from a rabid slash reader). There is also a slash version of the story, which I've linked to, but I personally prefer the original gen. So, there's hi-jinks, a rapid meaty plot, utterly wonderful original characters and everything is just delightful and superbly written. It's a humorous tale that will keep you on your toes right up to the story's climax. Why are you still here, people? Go and read it, and if you've already read it, read it again!
