Aloha, Dr. Watson and Pelekane by
ariadnes_string (PG-13) Sherl
Fandom: SHERLOCK BBC / Hawaii Five-O
Pairing: John, Sherlock
Length: ~7,000
Author on LJ:
ariadnes_string
Author Website: Master List on LJ
Why this must be read:
In this two-piece story, John first meets Steve McGarrett in Afghanistan and Steve notes that Dr. Watson is "calm as fuck." He also notes his "sharpshooter's eye and his beautiful smile." Steve drinks Dr. Watson's tea and enjoys being taken care of by the strong, steady man we have all come to know and love. (Who wouldn't?)
Then John visits Hawaii for a vacation and Danny senses something is wrong. And he knows about British people, 'cause he was married to one for six years! And then Danny finally meets the reason for John's vacation. As for Sherlock, well, Getting Sherlock Holmes drunk on umbrella drinks was the most fun Danny had had for a long time. Bravo, Danny!
What keeps this crossover strong is how naturally everything flows together. It makes perfect sense, no backflips were necessary to get the characters to interact. And
ariadnes_string's strong suit is spot-on descriptions, crisp story-telling, and excellent character voices.
Aloha, Dr. Watson and the sequel, Pelekane, or, the English Visitor.
